Our SchoolParentsParent Teacher Organization. PTO     December 15, 2017

Ways and Means is still collecting Labels for Education. Send them through school or place them in the boxes in the back of Church. The PTO was able to use previously earned points to purchase all new playground equipment and indoor recess games for the entire school this year!

Our fine arts programs are off to a great start! Our young thespians are hard at work rehearsing for "The Magical Land of Oz," to be presented in late February/early March ) date TBD. Dance classes are offered after school on Mondays, beginning October 9. Please visit performingartsinc.net to register.

All students whose families paid their PTO dues will receive an out-of-uniform day on Friday, October 13. Not sure if you paid? Passes will be coming home in the Friday Folders, and the teachers have lists.

Boo-Grams will be on sale from Monday, October 16-Wednesday, October 25. Look for a form with the details of the sale to come home on Friday, October 13.

Please support our Ways and Means program, which is an arm of the PTO, by purchasing F&N Goode Chick'n on Wednesday, October 18. A portion of each purchase is donated back to the school.

Our first PTO-sponsored skating party at Western Rollarama will be Wednesday, October 25, from 6-8:30. Admission is $6 (please note the dollar increase from previous years) and includes skate rental. Wear your Halloween costume for added fun! All skaters receive a free popsicle.

We are happy to welcome COSI on Wheels back to Our Lady of Lourdes on Thursday, November 2. This year they will be presenting "Simple Chemistry" to grades K-6. Please look for volunteer forms to come home soon!

OUR LADY OF LOURDES PTO
WELCOMES YOU BACK!

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! At this time, we are collecting PTO dues, and we appreciate your help with this important endeavor. We could not function without these funds and our parent volunteers. Your dedication and generous contributions are vital to the events we provide throughout the year. These dues allow us to:

 Help teachers with classroom wish-list items and bus transportation for field trips.

 Provide refreshments for Catholic Schools Week, Open House, Den Breakfast, and supplies for the Teacher Luncheon.

 Provide prizes, supplies, and refreshments for the Walk-a-Thon and Field Day.

 Plan and organize COSI and other speakers and programs.

 Assist the school with miscellaneous expenses as the need arises.

 Minimize fundraising throughout the year.

 Provide General Meetings with informative speakers.

 Assist the Room Parents with classroom parties and other activities.

Dues this year will be $20 per family. Please take a moment to return this amount along with the attached slip; it makes such a difference in what we are able to accomplish. Paying these dues does not obligate anyone in any way. You will not be called upon unless you want to be.
Students with PTO dues paid by Friday, September 15, will receive an Out of Uniform Day, and classrooms with 100% dues collected will get an ice cream treat!

A few housekeeping items:
 The PTO Used Uniform Sale was a great success! We will be holding another one in January, and we gladly accept any donations. A bin to collect these items is located in the cafeteria, so please think of us as your children outgrow their school clothing.
 Mark your calendars for our first General Meeting on Tuesday, September 26 at 7:00 in St. Robert Hall. We welcome and encourage everyone to attend!
 In accordance with the OLL PTO by-laws, this will be our last year as Board Members. At this time, we are looking for people who are willing to “shadow” and work with us in order to fill these positions (President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer) for next year. Like you, we are mothers and fathers; we understand time constraints and that parents cannot always physically be at school to volunteer. However, most of what we do is behind-the-scenes and does not require time spent at school (unless one so wishes!). PLEASE consider volunteering
some of your time; the efforts of the PTO only enhance our children’s school experience, and if these positions are not filled, there will be no PTO next year. If you can be of service in any way, please fill out the attached sheet and return it through school.

Thank you for all you do, and we are all looking forward to a wonderful school
year! If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us.
