OUR LADY OF LOURDES PTO
WELCOMES YOU BACK!

Welcome back to the 2016-2017 school year! At this time, we are collecting PTO dues, and we appreciate your help with this important endeavor. We could not function without these funds and our parent volunteers. Your dedication and generous contributions are vital to the events we provide throughout the year.

These dues allow us to:

• Help teachers with classroomwish-list items and bus transportation for field trips.

• Provide refreshments for Catholic Schools Week, Open House, Buddy Breakfast, and supplies for the Teacher Luncheon.

• Provide prizes, supplies, andrefreshments for the Walk-a-Thon.

• Plan and organize COSI and otherspeakers and programs.

• Assist the school withmiscellaneous expenses as the need arises.

• Minimize fundraising throughout theyear.

• Provide General Meetings withinformative speakers.

Dues this year will be $15 per family. Please take a moment to return this amount along with the attached slip; it makes such a difference in what we are able to accomplish. Paying these dues does not obligate anyone in any way. You will not be called upon unless you want to be.

Students with PTO dues paid by Friday, September 9, will receive an Out of Uniform Day, and classrooms with 100% dues collected will get an ice cream treat!

A few housekeeping items:

• The PTO Used Uniform Sale was a great success! We will be holding another one in December, and we gladly accept any donations. A bin to collect these items is located in the cafeteria, so please think of us as your children outgrow their school clothing.

• Mark your calendars for our first General Meeting on Thursday, September 22 at 7:00 in St. Robert Hall. We welcome and encourage everyone to attend!

• Fridays will no longer be out-of-uniform days, so the PTO will not be purchasing new Mary shirts this year. However, these are an option on Tiger Pride and other out-of-uniform days.

Thank you to all who took the time to complete and return the surveys last year. There were many wonderful comments and suggestions that we would like to implement, but we cannot begin to do this without more help. Like you, we are mothers and fathers, and we understand that parents cannot always physically be at school to volunteer. The positions we are seeking to fill do NOT require this, and many are a one-time job throughout the year. PLEASE consider volunteering some of your time; the efforts of the PTO only enhance our children’s school experience. If you can be of service in any way, please fill out the attached sheet and return it through school.

Finally, you will find a tentative calendar of PTO-sponsored events in this packet; please keep this for reference throughout the year. We will make every attempt to send reminders home in the Friday Folders, but we hope you find this preview helpful.

Thank you for all you do, and we are all looking forward to a wonderful school year! If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us.
