OUR LADY OF LOURDES SPECIFIC INFORMATION

We are updating our specific information in response to the updated Stay at Home Order enacted by Governor DeWine.
Please continue to visit our website, our church and school Facebook pages and Instagram page and by enrolling in the parish email program for updates as the COVID-
19 containment plans are revised.

PRAYER and CHURCH RESOURCES

The Catholic Bishops of Ohio have extended the temporary suspension of all publicly celebrated Masses/liturgies at least through and including Sunday May 3rd. The
Bishops of Ohio dispense the Catholic faithful who reside in their respective dioceses and all other Catholics currently in Ohio from the obligation of attending Sunday Mass
during this time period. 

Holy Week online resources to help you participate in spirit with the liturgies are available through the Archdiocesan Office of Divine Worship and Sacraments website
at http://www.catholiccincinnati.org/ministries-offices/worship/worship-in-a-time-of- public-health-concern-coronavirus/  Click on the “Holy Week at Home” image on that
page to find “Adaptations of the Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and Easter Sunday Rituals for Family and Household Prayer.”

SCHOOL INFORMATION

 The 8 th grade graduation ceremonies are scheduled for May 20. A determination on maintaining that date and attendance will be forthcoming.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

The St. Vincent de Paul Conference, the parish Nutritional Assistance program and the Meals Ministry Casserole Club are local parish resources to provide support. If
you need assistance, or know someone that needs assistance, please contact the parish office at (513) 922-0715 or via email to parish@lourdes.org. St. Vincent de
Paul can be reached for help with food, rent and utilities by calling the parish office and selecting menu option #4.

Medical students at the University of Cincinnati have created a resource for older adults in the community. They are matching healthy volunteers with older adults over

the age of 60 or otherwise high risk individuals to help with groceries, prescriptions, and a check-in every few days to maintain social contact. You may sign up online at

We are updating our specific information in response to the Stay at Home Order enacted by Governor DeWine.

PRAYER and CHURCH RESOURCES

  • Religious facilities are considered Essential Businesses and Operations.  At this time, our church will remain open from 8am to 2:30pm for those wishing to engage in private prayer.  If there are 10 people in church when you arrive, please leave and return at another time.  Continue to be mindful of appropriate distance from others while you are in the church. 
  • Eucharistic Adoration will be available from noon to 3:30pm on Saturday.
  • Confessions will be available on Saturday from 2pm to 3:30pm.  
  • Access to the church will be through the handicap access door only.

SCHOOL INFORMATION

  • The Ohio EdChoice Scholarship Program will begin accepting applications on line on April 1, 2020.  If you believe that you are eligible for aid through this program, you may apply.  You may contact Beth DiTullio via email at bditullio@lourdes.org with any questions.
  • Students received several weeks of lesson plans from their teachers for the time that   face-to-face classes at Our Lady of Lourdes School have been suspended.  The School faculty continues to communicate daily with families on the specifics of the online distance learning.  Please contact your student’s teacher for more information.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

  • The Parish Office Center will operate on a limited basis.  We encourage you to call the office before making a trip.  The parish phone number is (513) 922-0715.  Voice mail messages and emails sent to parish@lourdes.org are regularly monitored. 
  • Parishioners and community needs for food may still be met through the St. Vincent de Paul Conference by calling (513) 922-0715; through the parish Casserole Club Meals Ministry by contacting the Parish Office or Mary Beth Rudemiller at mbrudy1@fuse.net; or through the parish Nutritional Assistance program by contacting the Parish Office.  Non-perishable food and supplies may be dropped off in the church gathering space.  Please contact the office before coming to campus to make any donation. 
  • You may send an email to parish@lourdes.org and we will enroll you to receive emails with from the parish. 
  • Sadly, we have seen an increase at this time in the volume of spam emails appearing to be sent from the pastor.  Be aware that Father Len would not ask for help via an email.

Please visit our website, our church and school Facebook pages and Instagram page for updates as the COVID-19 containment plans may change from time to time.  Please join us in praying for all who are suffering from illness or disease of any kind, and for an easing of the tension caused by this situation. 

As we navigate these unprecedented events in real-time right along with you, we would like to provide you with some updates. Please be advised of the following.

PRAYER and CHURCH RESOURCES

  • Since we are unable to receive Holy Communion during this time, you can make this prayer of Spiritual Communion, a source of grace in the midst of difficulty:

My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

 

  • During the time that publicly celebrated Mass has been suspended, celebration of Mass continues online and may be viewed online through multiple venues, including the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CatholicCincinnati/ , Bishop Robert Barron’s chapel at https://www.wordonfire.org/daily-mass/ and on the EWTN network.  You may also listen to the daily Mass on Sacred Heart Radio at station 740AM dial at 12:00 Noon.
  • Daily prayer resources and reflections are available online through various websites.
  • You may choose to be in solidarity with other Our Lady of Lourdes parishioners by praying the rosary in your own home at 1pm daily.
  • Eucharistic Adoration will be available from noon to 3:30pm on Saturday.
  • Confessions will be available on Saturday from 2pm to 3:30pm.
  • The Our Lady of Lourdes Prayer Chain remains available for all people.You may contact the Parish Office at (513) 922-0715 or via email to parish@lourdes.org to place a prayer intention.  Intentions may be shared anonymously if you wish.  You may join the Prayer Chain by contacting Sharon McBreen at sdphoto12@fuse.net    
  • In case of emergency, death or serious illness, please call (513) 608-0201.
  • The church will be open for private prayer 7:30am to 2:30pm.If you come for prayer, please be sensitive to praying in a location that provides for appropriate spacing between individuals.
  • Funeral Masses may still be offered.Attendance will be limited to asymptomaticfamily members.The group should be less than 50 people.

SCHOOL INFORMATION

  • Face-to-face classes at Our Lady of Lourdes School have been suspended at this time.The School faculty continues to communicate daily with families on the specifics of the online distance learning.
  • Enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year continues.Inquiries should be directed to the School office at (513) 347-2660 or to Heather Bessler, School Principal, via email to hbessler@lourdes.org.  Voice mail messages are retrieved throughout the day by School administration and faculty.  Paperwork intended for the School staff may be dropped off at the Parish Office Center.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

  • The Parish Office Center will continue to operate at this time during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.The parish phone number is (513) 922-0715.Messages sent tothe parish email address parish@lourdes.org are regularly monitored.
  • We will continue to prepare and publish a weekly bulletin.It is available online at www.lourdes.org/About/Publications.  We will also have printed copies available in the Parish Office Center.
  • For the well-being and safety of our entire parish community, non-liturgical activities, meetings and athletic events normally held on campus are cancelled until further notice.
  • Parishioners and community needs for food may be met through the St. Vincent de Paul Conference by calling (513) 922-0715, option 4; through the parish Casserole Club Meals Ministry by contacting the Parish Office or Mary Beth Rudemiller at mbrudy1@fuse.net; or through the parish Nutritional Assistance program by contacting the Parish Office.
