Picture Date Correction
Due to a scheduling conflict, Picture Day has been changed to Monday, September 13. Retakes will be on Wednesday, November 3.
Attention 8th grade Parents/Guardians
8th grade parents, please be sure to sign your child up for the High School Placement Test (HSPT) if he or she is planning to apply for admittance to a Catholic High School. This is not done automatically and is not done by Lourdes; it is the responsibility of each individual family to sign their student up to take the test at a high school of their choice. Please contact the high schools with any questions or concerns.
We are currently looking for parents, guardians, and family members who are interested in volunteering in the library and the cafeteria. If interested in volunteering in the cafeteria, please contact Melisa Densford at email@example.com or fill out the cafeteria volunteer form that went out in last week’s Friday folder. If interested in volunteering in the library, please contact Beth DiTullio by calling the school office or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
CPS bussing seems to be experiencing some challenges with their computer system. As always, we will do everything we can to assist you with transportation; however, please be patient with this process. A reminder to all who use CPS busses: When we have a change in arrival and dismissal times, there will be limited bussing (for example, Early Dismissal will not have afternoon bussing).
Mrs. DiTullio’s Note
If you received your EdChoice Acceptance letter, it is due to the school office as soon as possible. The EdChoice Authorization sheet that came out in the OneCall is due to the school office no later than September 1. If you need a paper copy, please let the office know, and we can send one home with your student. If you have not completed your FinalForms, please do so immediately (this also applies to our new families). All forms on FinalForms are due by August 31, 2021.
From the DRE’s Office
Have You Registered for Formed Yet? Thanks to a generous benefactor, our parish recently purchased a subscription to FORMED, an online platform containing various feature-length films, audio books, study programs, interview shows, cartoons, etc. on a variety of Catholic topics for both adults and children. The Religion teachers will be using some of the Formed content for their lessons this year, but you are also welcome to view it at home. To begin taking advantage of this resource for continuing faith formation, go to signup.formed.org and enter 45238 and your name and e-mail address. You can also get the free FORMED app by searching for FORMED Catholic in your app store.
The AC in the new gym is being serviced. In order to do this, a crane will be in the driveway leading up to the office door on Wednesday, September 1, which will make that driveway unavailable for pick up or drop off. Please park along Rosebud, in the Grotto parking lot, or in the church parking lot if you need to come to the office or into the school building during the day.
PTO dues of $30 is due next week. Please don’t forget to fill in the chart with your child’s name and homeroom on the PTO form that was sent home last week. If your form and dues are returned by September 3, your child will receive an out of uniform pass for Tuesday September 14. PTO NEEDS to fill the positions on their Board, please circle one or all positions that you would be interested in. Please contact Katie Boyers with any questions: email@example.com.
