Attention 8th Grade Parents/Guardians

8th grade parents, please be sure to sign your child up for the High School Placement Test (HSTP) if he or she is planning to apply for admittance to a Catholic High School.  This is not done automatically and is not done by Lourdes; it is the responsibility of each individual family to sign their student up to take the test at a high school of their choice.  Please contact the high schools with any questions or concerns.]

Picture Date Correction

Due to a scheduling conflict, Picture Day has been changed to Monday, September 13.  Retakes will be on Wednesday, November 3.

PTO Information

PTO needs to fill the positions on their Board.  Please circle one or all positions that you would be interested in.  Please contact Katie Boyers with any questions:  onlysmiles1980@yahoo.com.

Volunteers

We are currently looking for parents, guardians, and family members who are interesed in volunteering in the library and the cafeteria.  If interested in volunteering in the cafeteria, please contact Melisa Densford at mdensford@lourdes.org.  If interested in volunteering in the library, please contact Beth DiTullio by calling the school office or emailing bditullio@lourdes.org.

We Are Family Shirts

The first Friday of each month we wear our We Are Family shirts with uniform bottoms.  Shirts were provided at no cost to the students when this was first introduced, and shirts are also provided to new students (these will be distributed when ready).  If your returning student's shirt no longer fits or has been lost or damaged, we do have some extras available for $5 while supplies last.  If interested, please put $5 in an envelope and label it with your student's name, shirt size, and homeroom, and send it to the office.

Mrs. DiTullio's Note

If you received your EdChoice Acceptance letter, it is due to the school office as soon as possible.  The EdChoice Authorization sheet that came out in a OneCall is also due to the school office as soon as possible.

From the DRE's Office

Have you registered for FORMED yet?  Thanks to a generous benefactor, our parish recently purchased a subscription to FORMED, an online platform containing various feature-length firms, audio books, study programs, interview shows, cartoons, etc. on a variety of Catholic topics for both adults and children.  The Religion teachers will be using some of the FORMED content for their lessons this year, but you are also welcome to view it at home.  To begin taking advantage of this resource for continuing faith formation, go to signup.formed.org and enter 45238 and your name and email address.  You can also get the free FORMED app by searching for FORMED Catholic in the app store.

From the Pastoral Associate's Office

On September 12th we will have an outdoor Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the school courtyard.  There will not be an 8:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Mass on this day.  Have kids and teens bring their backbacks for a backpack blessing.  Parents, bring your phones so we can show you how to launch the new FORMED app!  Please join us!

Acknowledgement of Risk Form

The Archdiocesan Acknowledgment of Risk Form was sent home last week in the Friday folder.  It needs to be filled out, signed, and returned to the office.  If you have not turned it in, please do so as soon as possible.  If you need a new copy, contact the office to have a paper copy sent home.

Transportation Notes

CPS:  CPS bussing seems to be experiencing some challenges with their computer system.  As always, we will do everything we can to assist you with trasportation; however, please be patient with this process.  A reminder to all who use CPS busses: when we have a change in arrival and dismissal times, there will be limited bussing (for example, early dismissal).  In such cases there will be no afternoon bussing.

Morning drop off:  For the safety of our students, we ask parents to stop dropping off tardy students on Rose Bud Drive and to please pull throught the driveway by the office doors.  If your student is going to be tardy or absent, you need to call the school office before 9:00 a.m.  You can leave a message on the attendance line at any time, (513) 347-2660, option 2, or call the school office and speak with Mrs. DiTullio during regular office hours.  Don't forget your note when your return from an absence.

Afternoon Dismissal:  For the safety of our students who are walking home, walking to the Church lot for pick-up, or walking to the buses, we cannot have parents parking on Rose Bud Drive to pick up their students.  If you park on Rose Bud Drive, you will be asked to move your car into a lot.  If you are running late for dismissal, your student will be taken to the office and released to you when you pull up the driveway by the office doors.
